Benefits of doing a 100 day challenge

6 tips why you should dive into a 100-day project

Guess what? I'm diving back into the creative deep end with my trusty sketchbook and a fresh set of gouache paints! That's right, I'm embarking on my second 100-day art challenge, and this time it's all about flexing my painting muscles & showing up consistently.

Get ready for round two! There's something uniquely exciting about committing to a 100-day project & nerve-racking at the same time.

Here are my six top reasons why you should jump in too:

  1. Small Steps, Big Results: Break that big, daunting artistic goal into manageable daily steps. Whether it's a doodle, a stroke of a brush, or a few lines on paper, those tiny efforts add up over time. Before you know it, you've accomplished something truly remarkable, It also helps you get over the fear of putting pen to paper, I encourage you to just create and see where it takes you.

  2. Supercharge Your Creativity: Think of a 100-day project as a turbo boost for your creative engine. By committing to creating something every day for a hundred days, you'll be amazed at how your creative ideas start to flow more freely. It's like a daily workout for your imagination!

  3. Banish Creative Block: Ever faced the dreaded creative block? It's a thing of the past when you're in the groove of a 100-day challenge. The regular practice keeps your creative gears turning, making those moments of "I don't know what to create" less and less frequent. A tip: If you're struggling with ideas of what to draw or paint, use drawing prompts to take the decision factor out of the equation.

  4. Discover Your Style: With 100 days of consistent creating, you'll likely see your artistic style evolve right before your eyes. It's like having a front-row seat to your own artistic journey. You might stumble upon techniques, colour palettes, or themes you never thought you'd explore.

  5. Fear of Blank Canvas? No More: You know that initial fear of the blank canvas? The dreaded blank page loses its power as you face it daily. Soon, it's not so intimidating, and ideas flow more freely. Soon, you'll see it as an opportunity, not a challenge. This newfound courage can spill over into other aspects of your creative life too!

  6. Join the Creative Club: When you take on a 100-day challenge, you're not alone. There's a whole community of artists who are diving into their own creative adventures. Sharing your progress, cheering each other on, and exchanging ideas create an inspiring and motivating atmosphere you won't want to miss.

Let’s get our brushes, sketchbooks, and paints ready! Let's embark on this 100-day adventure together, pushing our creative boundaries and developing new concepts to pull from for future work to come. Stay tuned for updates, tips, and shared moments of my journey on social media.

Here's to a palette of inspiration and endless creativity!
